Skip I know what you are using. I have three #1 Metz full grizzle saddles which I will use to tie the woolies for bream for this season. Wil not use them all but would hate to replace them at todays prices. I bet it would be five times the price of a gallon of gas. I also have some old grade AA olive and badger necks from trout fly days. If I dig long enough I can come up with some Blue Dun necks and a brown and maybe a Cree. Haven't looked in that box for a long time and didn't think a thing about it untill you brough it up. Will have to get it out and look thur it to see what is there. Not that I use alot of that material but Back when I bought alot of that stuff it was like $4.50 a Full cape. Neck and saddle. Have had it packed away with moth balls and the way I packed it it should still be in first class shape.

Pbug I am a good tie but a poor fashion designer. Will let someone else design the thing I will just tie to there requirements.LoLs

Not all hackle are the same and jig tying has really nothing to do what what I am talking about even though I do some bream jigs using dry fly hackle.
Has nothing to do with what length though and nothing to do with Chinese saddles either or the strung saddle hackle that is 6" lone. I really don't believe you undrestand the problem for some tyers.

Probably not, I'm a just a fisherman. G'luck to you and to all those whose need for that saddle it is going to impact.

and if you try to order them stateside, you're in for a long wait. I believed it me in skip by quite a few in stateside when we can. I know of two or three different outfits will cater throughout the Northwest. But good luck in trying to get any out of them. I've been trying on one for over three years. Of course some of the better stop is quite expensive but if you are tying good fly patterns you will need them especially on dry flies in like skip said above, I don't think you would want to use this type of stuff on jigs too darn expensive and less you are tying exotics which I called exotics or you are tying a fly pattern on a jig head which I would like to see more of.
