Use a candle. Plain, 3" round, white, unscented. Also can use an alcohol burner. Or a heat gun. Or your toaster oven preheating the jigheads. Ect. Lots of stuff.

Heat gun for me. Went fancy and bought the digital model with 12 settings or so.

Did read once that someone used the burner on their gas stove-top in a pinch. That I don't suggest.

    So that brings us to:

    Lighter
    Candle
    Torch
    Alcohol Burner
    Heat Gun
    Toaster Oven

Yeah ditch the lighter and probably the candle idea. Both don't apply clean heat. They leave soot which keeps the powder from adhering properly.

I've always used a candle. Hold it above the flame, not in it. Sticks and hardens just fine.

I've been using the cans of Sterno or whatever that they use under catering dishes to keep the food warm. I've had several types, one has a wick on top and some type of liquid inside. The other is the Sterno stuff, it's kinda like hardened gel. I like the wick type best, but both work well. I saw a packet of 2 or 3 at Wally world for less than $10. One can will last for a long time, guess 6-10 hours. That's 6-10 times I can paint 100 jigs with the same can. I've also used these cans in the boat to warm my hands. My buddy uses the propane torch and loves it. The wife bought me one the other day on sale for $10. Guess I'll try it out soon. I'm a little on the lazy side, I like to paint mine sitting in the recliner. I put a small plate under the Sterno can and set it on the arm of the recliner or the table next to the chair while I paint jigs. I know I can't do that with the torch so I'll have to use it in the garage. Brrr

Get a $30 toaster oven from WalMart, or one cheaper at a yard sale, and use that to cure your jigs once you paint them. 350-375 degrees for 20-30 minutes will be fine.
