Pbug Mr flatfish and I had a decussion about this not that far back. We have come to the conclution that kip tail is the better material to use in a cold weather time. Less action than feathers of any kind. Crappies will slow down in cold weather periods I am not talking about cold fronts but Cold Months. Dec thur March for us. We both agreed that kiptail would be the best tail material since it has less action and would appeal to the crappies better. Will agree that in the warmer months I want to be useing bou or hackle tails. BTW I have all three but have been using kip this last month. It works for me but know there are many answers to this question depending on what part of the country you live.
