I will send you some pictures of some rattlers that will blow your mind, in email when I get a chance. One of them is 9'1" long and weighed 97 pounds, LOL!

I think this spider may have got me on the air plane and I have no clue as to what kind, but if it was a really bad one other signs would have showed up by now.

Thanks everyone for your concern and well wishes and also the welcome back!

Hey Skip wondered when you would be back. sorry to hear about the bite much rather had it been a fish than a spider. Take care and know what you mean about tonight as I have a luxry bulls eye flake coins set out for midnight with a bottle of Die Krantz ruby red Port to ring in the New Year. Its crazy how us old geezers enjoy our pipes and port. Those VaPers are hard to beat.

That would be enough to make me move Bob. All of those critters and rattlers and I would not fare well in the same house. Deep snow, scorpions, black widows, dink crappies, and rattlers will make this ship sail to new waters.

Hey Ship your from Alabama. You are far enough south you aught to have water moccasins, copper heads, timber rattlers, black widows, brown recluses, gators and 10,000 other insects that bite or sting. I do and I keep my eyes moving all the time for them. Billy the Exterminator lives 15 mile straight east of me. And he get his share of wild thing that can hurt you. I will not move as they all make life intresting. BTW I do carry a 410 shotgun with me in the boat. Better to be safe than sorry.

Good to see you back from your trip, but I hate to hear about your bite. I had to have one lanced a couple of years ago under my wrist. I know them suckers are painful.

    Ship,

I went to grad school in Alabama. Being from up North, I had my reservations about Alabama. Anyway, when I first drove into the state I stopped a a state welcome center. In a glass display was a stuffed rattler that had a head that was almost as big as my fist!!I thought "Is that just meant for Northerners?".

Oh yeah, and there was teh scorpion I found on the porch screen one day. I didn't say anything to my wife because I didn't want to scare her. A few years later, after we had moved, I told her and she told me that she had also found one!

    Pete

P.S. BTW, after living in Alabama I think it is a great place!

Doctor thinks I got bit a year ago and I ended up out of work for a week as I couldn't put my leg down. If you even think you've gotten bit get it checked. Hope you get the finger back working soon!!

Heck it's not really the finger, it's the knuckle on my hand that leads to that finger. Boy I tell you what too this darn thing has done some hurting too!

If it was not for anti-inflammatory meds it would be worse.

are rattlesnakes you're not very big. We get occasional 4 or five footers most of them are pretty small, but they are still deadly. I do not kill rattlesnakes enlist they get in my yard. They kill a lot of mice which are lousy around here so I'll either rattlesnakes alone if they are out in the fields most of the ranchers kill them, but I just keep a close eye in front of me in the summer months be looking forward to seeing in some of those pictures.
