Jig Advice

I am getting ready to start tying and stocking up on my sauger jigs, my question is if I was to use my brown hair on my bucktail, what color would you all paint the heads. I was thinking black or chart.

What colors do you normally catch them on? If your not sure do two or three of a color combination and do about ten different color types to experment with.

I would try Blaze Orange Head.....Black Thread Neck.....and Brown Bucktail

This is the first year I am going to fish with hair for them, I normally just use plain jig had with a white or chart body, tipped with a minner or just minners on bottom

Hey len thats looks great, do you paint the eyes or are they stick on, if you do paint them on what kind of paint do you use, I really like the way your jig looks. Thanks

It is Acrylic paint you can buy almost any where and the head is coated with hard as nails!

That jig would be great with brown bucktail,orange thread body and a brown head.

I painted a tyed a couple for you.Top is 1/8 no collar with a size 1 hook with red thread body.Bottom is a 1/4 oz. with a 1/0 hook and brown bucktail,brown head and purple beaver chennile.
