My first jigs

after messing up a bunch of times lol i think i have a few that are not to bad but wold love to see what some of you guys think.

Well C-killers: They look good the only thing wrong is they aren't on a line and that line isn't in the water. But I know that they will be shorty.LOLs I don't make my tails as long as you have but believe me they will catch fish. Study the jigs pictures in the stickys and try to duplicate.

I would be concerned about background colors and objects taking away from the photo compostion. As a whole, your first jigs are a lot better than many of the people on here first jigs were including mine. Having said that, I think your chenile bodies are a tad long. As far as the marabou tail I would use "V" parts under the chenille or just the fibers themselves that have been cut from the stem. I think that would give you the best underwater movement.

What Ship said about taking the fibers from the stem is right on. Much better movement and durability. Colors look real good. Don't get too carried away with the flashy stuff, accent works well but sometimes a bunch works too. Look at what you tie in the lake.I tied one with a bunch and one with a couple of strands, and I was fishing in water with some color. In this case, less put more in the boat. For your first you've done a heck of a job, and they'll catch fish for sure. Also, a piece of paper held behind the jig being photographed helps with the focus issues.

Your trying to take your pictures too close to the jig. They will be a lot more clear a little farther back.

I disagree about the V stuff. Fibers from the stems is the way to go, just makes sure it's thick, but I wouldn't try the V stuff with Marabou. And I prefer the fluffier stuff when it comes to movement and marabou is the way to go to me...I just can't get into the stream-line jigs, as long as length is right, I've had more success with fluffier jigs.............they're just not geared for the human eye. The only body that looked long was the 4th one to me, but I never can see how that'd deter a fish hit.....if anything I'm trying to figure out how it might not be better.
The 2nd and 5th jig look like you might've had a prob finishing?
Doesn't matter, I'd use every one of them and would guarantee you'd I'd catch fish in the right conditions.

Try 'em out and tell me how you do, thats the exciting part to me, because i bet you'll be happy.

Looking good crappie-killers. They surely look better than my first jigs did. I can see you're hooked now. LOL
