After weeks many tubes of silicone,a hell of a lot of time and cursing. I finally completed a project. Caught the craw ,cast him minus the flat of the tail. Then I made the insert out of coriander because its tough you can drill it , heat it bend it to shape good stuff for crank lips ect. Shot the plastic hand painted this puppy and applied the hardware. This is the end result. It does nail bass. But I don't think I'll do another.

This one is approx. 5'' I'm not planning on making another. It was a birthday thing and a pain beyond belief. Thanks for the thumbs up. Sorry for the poor pics. Still don't have the pic thing down. Better keep my day job and not become a photographer.
Man that is a sweet looking bait!!!!!!!!! and yeah I bet it was a time consumer.

Incredible job PH!!!
Awesome job on that!I'm just starting to dabble into soft plastics, but thought about trying cranks too sometime. One project at a time though.

that is the most realistic crawfish bait i've seen. it's a shame it takes so long to make. it would sell in a heartbeat. depending on price it might sell anyway. i've bass fished all my life and i can't imagine any self-respecting bass turning that bait down. how much would it take to make and sell ? pm me if you want.
Honestly, That was so hard to do It gives me the shivers to think about another. I spent probably 40 hours on that . and 100.00 making various attempts with different molding materials. Not counting the painting time. Maybe if I ever get some free time again I can consider another whack at it. Thanks for the kind comments .
well, if you ever get it down pat and can mass produce them you could re-coup your money easy i think.
I'm on several web sites and one of the guys sent me an email shortly after I did the post. He says that a lure almost Identical to what I made came out in the 70's . couldn't tell me which one but I'm sure they still own the patent. Maybe someone here can tell me who did the thing first . I could find out if its an open patent now. Then I might give her a shot.
