How can I get a y-guard to fit into a mold made for fibers? I noticed the y-guard has a small circular indent in the base. What is it's purpose? And is there a mold made for both the y-guard and and fiber guard? Thanks for the help.

What the little circle indent is for is where in goes in the jig head, and the outside edge sits on the edge of the jig above it. I don't know of any molds that will take both kinds unless you have a custom made or know how to customize the mold yourself.

Do It used to carry the mold for Y guards but not anymore. I believe they still carry the fiberguard molds. I still use jigs with the Y guards and absolutely love them. You can hunt brush with them instead of trying to avoid it.

Knowing how to set up a jig with a Y guard and fish it can make a big difference as well. You'll still lose some jigs but not nearly as much as you would if you didn't use a weedless jig.

Does anybody know if any company is making the molds for crappie jig with y-guards? Or does anybody have one they would like to sell?
