Thanks Scott, you know that has a good ring to it. I've just got into using these larger heads to avoid using a splitshot above my jigs to keep them vertical. Helps to be able to get to your jig if you get hung up and knock it off with the end of your pole. May start calling them Marabou Jawbreakers.

That should work for you and catch some crappie. In the summer I use 1/8 & 1/4 all the time. Even in the pre-spawn when they are in water around that 12'-14' water depth and the wind is up some I will pull it right next to me and the side of the boat. Works great! Mostly then I do use 1/8, but no reason the 1/4 wouldn't do the same thing and I have used them some in that type condition.

Looks good. I am usually using a 1/16th and 1/32nd double jig set up year round. That way I am fishing two different depths with two different sizes and two different colors. That puts the odds in my favor. If I tip my jigs then one has a minnow cut in half for scent and the other might have a wax worm.

After that I let the fish tell me what is working that day. The most important thing is to slow your presentation down and have confidence in what you do.

    What size is the hook?

That's a great looking jig. THE classic with more class. I'm not much on light jigs and have trouble going lower than 1/16th...primarily use 1/8ths but I fish a lot of deep and in-between trees on their sides...when I fish. Walk a trunk and dropping to feel that thump in between Ving branches makes my blood boil. (I lose a lot of jigs) Always considered trying a 1/4 oz but most, I've seen in stores, are saltwater geared with thick long hooks, when I don't like anything other than #2 really..

Sharp jig. The color is almost a double of the assassin black/chart that I use alot of, works well for me. Good work.
