I've never tried the glimmer thread Josh. The 210 flat waxed thread is the way to go. I get lots of my stuff from Robert at Crazy Angler.

210 is what you want and as for the Glimmer thread, you should only see the thread if it's a thread neck jig so most of the time you never see the thread. I would think the Glimmer Thread is more for fly tying, but not 100% positive since I never used it. I use 210 Flat Waxed 95% of the time probably.

The glimmer isn't as strong as 210,but you can do more with it.You can use it in tails and around the head when you finish to add flash.I've used it for bodies as well after I built the body up with other thread when I make hard body jigs. For strength I'd say it's between 70 and 140 denier.

The glimmer thread that I have I use for ribbing to add a little sparkle. As for the others comments on the 210 denier it's right on the dot!!!!

Thanks for Your support if you have any questions please feel free to call about products and their uses.Glimmer is primarly for fly's though it ty's excellent thread full bodies and,I like to par it over hackle in a twist prior to pallmering for added flash a trick not widely used any more for adding strenght to Your hackle base It's great for nymph's where wire weight is not needed as well!Let Your mind decide it's use's do not limit Yourself!
