Default Back to a little dubbing

Well I am happy with this one and what a beautiful Light Olive this is. So what do you guys think?

It's hard to see in this picture, but the body is segmented and you can see and feel that.

And just to show you guys we all can do poor work if we try hard enough, LOL!

Here is the one that had me peeved the other day. Notice the bubble butt? Also how sorry my hackle job turned out. Now this is rope dubbed so I am still learning and this was not how the hackle should look.

Then one that came out alright even if I would fish it because I don't like the color combo, but I didn't care about that and only wanted it to dub right and it did just OK, but I was happier with the results and now am back.

I hate dubbing, any form of it. Only thing I hav e ever dubbed that turned out right was peacock herl. That first one looks great, the dubbing doesn't look bad on the other 2 but that is the rust coming off. When I dub it comes out looking like something that fish owuld eat as a sympathy kill. They catch fish but I wouldn't post a picture of my dubbing anything.
I love taking my kids fishing, now if I could just manage to fish at the same time.

I like it! Ice dub? I've been trying to think of ways to get a chunky-looking dubbed body. Do you have any ideas? I have tried doing a chenille underbody and then wrapping over with dubbing with iffy results, but kept thinking that there has to be a better way of building an underbody and then dubbing it.

Is there a good way to spin dubbing in with your chenille, like the ice dub chenille?

SORRY for the off-track post! You've got the wheels spinning in my head again, Skip.

It's Mater Bright dub Zac. Let me toss this in my mind a bit and I may have some ideas already.

Anyone looking at that 2nd stuff it's just to show we can all make cruddy stuff, LOL!

The first one is the only one I like and pass my judgment.

fish_4_all I have some things for you too, but wife is calling now so back later.

    Thanks guys,

Never tried dubbing because it looks like it is not very easy to do.

I havn't dubbed in years. With the different sizes and colors of chenille out now you can get the same or better results without dubbing. Some of my ugliest jigs in my early tying days caught a bunch of fish so how pretty a jig looks doesn't matter to the fishy's. They have to eat something.
