    Default Charging glow stuff

I have been finding a lot more options for UV LED flash lights and wanted to know if anyone has been using them? The only one I have ever used was a little single LED pen light one that works great but with one LED I spent more time charging than fishing.

The only thing I know when looking for a good UV light is to get one that has 390-395 nm wave length. Other than that, does anyone have any recomendations for a good one?

Ebay UV LED flash light I found that one and I like it but want to get some responses from those that use them before getting one.
I love taking my kids fishing, now if I could just manage to fish at the same time.

A camera flash works well for charging glow paints, you can buy them used for next to nothing at any camera store.

I have used a flash in the past but it didn't work as well as my little single UV LED penlight. I did some experiments with it and the UV charged the glow ball for almost 3x as long. I used 3 flashes of the flash and held on pen light on it for 10 seconds.

    Fish 4 All,
UV is the best charging light. I too have ran many experiments with all kinds of lights and my little 12 led UV flashlight does the best. I am currently making a 100 UV LED charging station and will see how that turns out.I posted some other glow stations on another thread.

For a good glow paint, try Pro-Tecs super glow orange... it glows like fire and brighter than any other color I've seen.

iFish, if you create a good one let me know. I have been trying to find enough information to make my own but it is a lot more introcate than I expected. A lot of soldering, not hard but a lot of work. Is just easier now to get a $6 flashlight or two.

Only thing I wish was that I could find something under $35 that is American made.

GCD, I like your signature. I have some white, chartreuse and hot pink glow so I will have to test them out under my little one and see how they do.

Thanks! I found it online while looking at fishing mottos and quotes, it said the author was "unknown".:p

I have most of the glow paints from Pro-Tec and they all work pretty good, but I was kinda disappointed in the super glow green... it's not very bright at all. The super glow orange is the brightest with super glow yellow coming in a very close second. Not only do they glow brighter, but much longer too!

I think longer is more imortant than brighter in some situations. I trout fish at night here often and I have found that the longer I can get it to glow the more bites I get. In clear water a bright glow is not really needed. For day fishing in murky water the brighter the better I guess. Unfortunately the stuff I used to use didn't glow for more than 10 minutes, not visible to me anyway.

I tested those pellets again and I could see the glow without issue for over an hour on a charge from my 4 foot flourescent bulbs. I could even see some detail of the bathroom once my eyes adjusted. I will test other stuff tomorrow but I doubt I have anything that comes close except for my glow painted jig heads.
