    Default Hellgramites for Smallies

I got my custom 1/8 oz. football head jigs from Grousefly last night.I forgot that I even ordered them. But,I have been planning these in my head since the Smallie Jig Swap. They are 1/8 oz. Football jig with no collar and a 1/0 long shank hook.Black powder paint head with chartruse powder paint eyes.Figured they would be getting thrown against the rocks,so did'nt want any glued on eyes. It's tied with black Bucktail and black rubber legs with a small diameter blackish chenille. It looks very good when it's wet.

Looks good. Bet they'd produce in the rivers of east TN. The man that told me of fishing hellgramites got a glassy, far off look in his eyes when he talked of it. Said it was his favorite way to fish for em, done it since he was a kid. Good luck with the new bug.

SMB just love to hammer Hellgrammites. My favorite time to fish is at dusk when the Hellgrammites become active and come out of the riffles. Wow the strikes are just savage on those jigs.
