I sell a lot of purple tails with ginger body and some with yellow and purple mixed. Purple and Black use to be our go to colors at night bass fishing way back in the early 1970's. Purple & Grape are both good colors.

Just tied one the other day with a purple head and body and a really bright Yellow. Experimenting stuff.

Yep I agree with Skip. Purple is a go to color for night fishing. Always remember a fish is looking up ( gamefish ) to feed. Lighter colors tend to fade out on the night sky. While darker colors tend to contrast better. Same reason a black jitterbug is a great color to use on pond bass in late evening to full dark.

i like darker color for night fishing for crappie. A little glow helps but it can be overdone.
Few strands of flashabou to give it a little flash also. Love to watch crappie come up in the circle of light and slurp up my jig almost like dry fly.

Yuppers on the purple!!! It is one of my go to colors here on Lake Wisconsin.
Seems like the dark purple works better than the lighter purples. Have caught
a ton of Crappies and Walleyes on purple during the day. With Pro Tec purple I add black to get the darker purple I want, then add a dark chenille
and shad colored feathers or maribou for the tail.
