Good set up there!! I wouldn't let my unused thread stay out in the light though. It and my fishing line are kept in the dark whenever possible.
I will use your set up idea if you don't mind. Illinoisgiller

I'd be ashamed to post a pic of MY station. I have a little corner of my computer desk with things strewn all over the place. It really looks horrible. I keep most of my stuff in a large tacklebox and get out what I need, I just forget to put it back until I HAVE to clean it up. Your station looks very nice, I hope you can keep it looking that neat.

Harleyboy, if you get a can of aerosol contact cement and a small roll of gasket cork you could do away with the towel that slides around. Really like the set up. I need a thread storage but work out of a secretary style desk and wouldn't have room for it. Looked at a lot of those before my wife surprised me at Christmas with my desk. I love it. Got a rod rack/storage set up at my buddies place at the local flea market. It came from Cabelas originally, has 3 good drawers and holds 6 big plano boxes. The two work well together, I'm set. will post oics soon.

Nothing wrong with that and you can always add in some spots for tools or what ever else. If you ever decide to get a "C" clamp it looks like you could clamp it to the station and the table at the same time.

good lookin station, and I've gotta agree with IllinosAngler about the thread. Try and keep most of it out of the bright light or sunlight it'll last longer.
