    Default Trying some new Marabou

Thought I'd open the table for some opinions. Anyone care to share some different ideas with marabou regarding color combos for best time of year usage? I'm wanting to try some I haven't yet, example would be (Dirty Tomater color, greens, browns, and normal red) How's do these workout for those of you who tie much of these colors?

Now when this lake is stained the Hot Orange works very well and I use the black & Green body (Actually look green, but is Fl yellow). I would think what you are calling Dirty Tomater would be goo in place of a Hot Orange too. I have also done well with Flo. Flame. I use a good bit of a Red Head and body with Chart tail, but have not used much red tail. I would think green is or would be good, but there are so many shades of green. I do know around Hydrilla greens do well.

I'm thinking of a fair to light green maybe because most darker shades of chenille tend to look black in water, like purple.

I think Skip has touched on a very underrated jig color. Think about safety vests and other things that need extreme visibility....blaze orange. I had used orange body with chart tails but never solid orange. Tried some solid...orange head, bright orange chenille, and orange tail that I tied a few years ago and they worked real well in both clear and muddier water.

Clark, I have all those off colors as I like to call them and have used them here but always find myself going back to the usuals(chart, fluorescents, pink, white and gray).

P.S. Dont use Fl yellow with a red tail on Darbonne unless you want a sore arm. The gills cant resist it!

I like orange during low light hours,in particular right before daylight. Make that orange/chartreuse. They go together for me.
