i was reading in the fly fishing section about catching cat fish on certain type of fly. what about a certain type of jig? is there one? mainly caught small channels on solid black or brown
Depends on what they're feeding on, and tipping it wouldn't hurt either... Crawdads, minnow patterns, buggy looking things, ect would all work... I'd expect mostly channels.
Catch them on most any crappie jig in the summer fishing over brush and even have caught some in the spring long line trolling. Have not been trying to do that, but it just happens.
Skip
I've caught catfish while jig/cork fishing near rip rap with natural/baitfish colored jigs... also caught them on stonefly nymph patterns, Mepps spinners, and flo. colored crappie jigs....
