Along with Crappie I am also a fan of huge bluegill. When I learned to use a flyrod about fifty years ago at the age of 12 yrs. One local state lake gave up huge gills and supplied my and my uncles families with a bunch of great eating.


While I was reading on fly tying sites. Some of the old patterns I reconized royal coachman , black gnat , adams etc etc


I thought why not tie some these patterns on real small jigheads. Will post some pix of my trial patterns. To me a jig is like using a weighted fly. See no reason why they won't work but hey I been wrong before.
