    Default Base Coat

When you dip a jig head in a base coat of powder do you heat the head up again then dip it in the finished color?

Thats one way to do it. Another way is to reheat the head and sprinkle second coat on with disposable paint brush.

I do my silver by immersing in silver. Then top with holographic silver with brush. Fish probably don't care but I like the way it comes out.

There's only 8-9 colors i've seen that call for an undercoat color, but yes you would heat and dip your undercoat color and then re-heat and either brush the second coat or re-dip in the second color.

    Len,
I can usually put up tp 3 coats on the first heating then I run it back over the heat gun at a little bit further distance to flow everything back out. Then run it back through the paint and back to the heat. Some jigs will have up to 5 colors and or coats. The glow jigs are a little harder to get everything right. Take care and thanks again for the eyes.....Ifish

I don't use a base coat unless I am painting a candy color and you need that also with the glow colors. I don't use the glow colors as I like the way I make my glow stuff.
