TennTodd and I hit Tims Ford yesterday and the fishin was slow. Boredom got the best of me and I finally tied on a 1/32oz in white/red collar. Started catching some 'gill and even a couple of good uns. Todd hooked up and had a smallie almost a pound back to the boat when he dropped his rod tip and it threw the hook. Caught 2 crappie dinks and called it a day. Beautiful day, wind laid down, and though no keepers it was a good day. Came home and tied a bunch of little (1/32) to replace what we lost on the structure. They're tough to cast but the fish like em. Used red/white and black/chart and yellow/yellow. I think the size was most important. Tried to post a pic but the PC isn't liking me today. All fish today but one caught on hand ties. I'm liking this and Todd is at sportsmans whse now buying materials for his own addiction. I told him to hold tight to his credit card.

It is surprising how much a little size difference or a color tweak can make Even with the largest of fish. Is why I always have a lot of different sizes with me and colors. Good job turning a no bite into some fun.
I love taking my kids fishing, now if I could just manage to fish at the same time.
I do better with smaller sizes as the water cools down. Congrats on what sounds like a fun day, even though you didn't bring home a stringer full.
My wife thinks I am nuts cause I have done the same thing..... Fish for a few hours and when I get home, wanna sit right down and tie. She says, "Is that all you can think about?" :D Can't help it, I'm always thinking of adjustments that might work when I'm out on the water and gotta do it before my mind heads off in another direction. :p
Yea we had a good time on the water. Yes I went and bought a starter set for tying. I spent under $50 and should last a long while. See my post in this forum for the first 3 I tied.
