Thread Dilema

Does anyone have any ideas on how to get this..........



...onto small spools that I can put in my bobbin? I have been winding it on old spools by hand and have alot of trouble with the metallic colors. Ends up getting twisted up and gets knots. Tried the way I spool line on my reel, opposite of how it comes off the main spool, but that seemed to be worse?? Any help appreciated!

BTW... anyone need some antique gold embroidery thread? lol The metallic silver has some awsome shine, but is kinda on the weak side. Check out your local embroidery shop, never know what samples they might have in a box they will part with for only a little bit of $$

Yep get You a 1/4 piece or 3/16 all-thread put a nut on it slide little spool on al-thread then another nut slightly tighten leave all thread long enough to put in a variable speed drill get you a 8x8 blk. with a 3/4 wooden dowel glued in the middle longer than the longest thread spool you have stick spool on wodden dowel so it turns put thread on little spool turn on drill!

You can put thread on smaller spools with a sewing machine.

I have seen spoolers for sewing machine spools on eBay might want to check it out I am not sure what I used for the search but try some stuff and you should be able to come up with something.

Make you a thread stand so the thread unspools right and take a long screw poke it through the bobbin and run a nut and tighten against the spool and chuck it in a portable drill and have at it.

Look for this thread winder made by Thompson. You can probably find them on eBay – saw one about two weeks ago.
These were designed to rewind spools so you could manually wax the thread.

The top shaft – receiver for the empty spool - has a turning crank.

There are great ideas posted on this thread. I have used the drill idea before and it works quite nicely. Ifish, I may have to make me one of those stands. That is news I can use. Great idea!

Thanks for the suggestions! Tried my drill... Flatfish is right... NEEDS TO BE VARIABLE SPEED! Mine is not and boy did I ever have a tangled mess. lol Did manage to fill 1 spool, but it is pretty lumpy! :D

Jubs, LedHed - Looked on Ebay, couldn't find any Thompson brand, but I saw some other types of them. Think I can build something myself out of wood scraps laying around now that I have some ideas on setup. Will be alot cheaper than buying a new drill. Thanks Again!!
