looks good. Like fishhunter said, shorten the tail on the next jig, and welcome to jig tying and crappie.com
"Mister, I love the way you wear that hat."
"You don't know nothin'."
Welcome to cc and the tying forum. Nice color combination which should put some crappie in the boat.
Looks good. The tail should typically be the same length as the hook. Try to run the chenille all the way up to the tail so as it looks all one piece.
Looks good!!!!!

Thanks for the input. It is greatly appreciated! I'll post some more pics when I make some improvements.
I agree with the others looks good, but might want to shorten up the tail a bit. Looks like you're off to a great start.
Welcome to the forum!
Not bad at all! As far as the tail I know a guide that uses longer tail than that and does well. However I use long tails too, but maybe not quite as long as yours, but try it and I bet it works really well. You know them crappie got a big old mouth and they can handle that.

jigtwins, Welcome to the Madness of tying, and yea have to agree the tail is a tad long, but that is an easy fix with marabou, just pinch a little off, and see what it looks like.
Where you at in the Buckeye state ?
