Can anyone tell us what this body material is??? Its not of any Mylar tubing Ive ever seen ,and It's texture is like that of micro fine wire or mono of some kind ,has a springy action when depressed flat,or pushed together. The silver flash was already woven into it as well,The red midge flash, and 1/8oz.jig head was added later.Originally a fly at a store where no one knows there either because they are fading their fly tying stock, and don't even know how tied it for them! Thanks

If that is EZ body tubing it doesn't look like mine or maybe it's been stretched out? I don't know, but mine is not full of holes like that. Have had that and the Mylar tubing for a couple years and still working on how I want to use it, LOL!

Looks like the packaging that freeze pops come in and somebody tried that body out. Looks good though.

I am still trying to figure it out myself it never looks good. I do have an idea I need to try though. It's a lot easier to use for flies but getting it onto a jig is a pain to said the least, then trying to secure it and make it look right is a whole other challenge.
Okay, have you ever seen the wrapping they out on wires when they splice them together? I think that is what it is. Most likely found at a hardware store. IF you can find it they should have many different sizes, styles and maybe even colors to choose from. If you can't find it there try an electrician. No one carries it here that I have found yet but I don't a descent electrician within 50 miles either.
It could also be something I saw once in a craft store for wrapping pencils and such and it was also used for filling with small candies and such. It did open op rather big for the way it look but not much bigger than say your thumb.
I love taking my kids fishing, now if I could just manage to fish at the same time.
No much less the Dia. of a pencil bud"Probably like a 2mm. or 3 mm.Dia. opening.I have found it quite easy to use like I said, stays firm and springy.I think Ive seen it it craft stuff too some where?Maybe a saltwater fly material exclusive" is why we cant figure?I will find out by goodness!:D thanks Guys!

Not a clue. Looks interesting. Did it catch fish? That, my friend, is the test.

It looks like something that may have been hand made. You might be able to do it by wrapping thread around small dowel rod then add the tinsel after that one more wrap of thread. Some type of spray (like a polyurethane) would be added to stiffen it up. Then tied over the hook.
If you look closely - it is not really uniform like you would expect from a machine made product. That's why I think it may be handmade.
I too would like to know if it catches fish. A marabou tail would be sweet.
At a second look - it was made on the hook. No way to slide it over the hook like that. A dowel rod could be placed beside the hook then the above method used. Slide the rod out and tie up at the end.
