I smoke as well that's the reason I started using scent to help mask the smell. I have noticed the difference as well. I have watched gills swim right past them and almost avoid jigs then watched after I added the scent and it made a difference even with a nibble on the jig both times.

    Default Smoking?

What smoking in this day and age. If'n you quit you could afford a new boat and motor. Can't believe the price of those things. That being said I smoke a pipe and find that I also think that it mask the smell.

You are right about leaving the nibbles out to dry I have about 14 bottles of them that are years old and they will dry out naturally. I have also found out that the older thy are the better they work. This is also true with the glup and if you are lucky enough to have some Strike there oldest product your going to be a winner. Guess it ages like fine wine or whiskey.

I like to use tube jigs and crappie nibbles. I used a Bait Pump to inject the crappie nibbles into the tube jig. The nibbles last a long time this way and do not have to worry abot them coming off.

Never tried this with nibbles, but...

When catfishing with chicken liver, I use a cut piece of pantyhose wrapped around the liver before it goes on the hook. Holds the liver on good when trying to cast a mile with a 2 oz. weight. Would just need a pretty small piece for a nibble, but would loose the color of the nibble.....

Bet you could get some looks if you went shoppin' for your nail polish AND panty hose at the same time! I steal a pair of my wifes when needed. Just make sure they don't smell like perfumed soap.

The injector is great for tubes - any ideas for hand ties & nibbles??? Guess I could lash a soda straw or something to the hook shank before tying a pattern - hmmmm...

I have had the thought of tying on some phnuematic (sp?) air-line stuff, but all that i have seen is too small. Can you some how turn nibbles into a thick paste and inject the stuff into it?????????? The drinking straw would be closer to the right size, but how would you tie it in without crushing it? Very cool idea.... wanna see how this plays out!

The Bait Pump....compresses and mashes the crappie nibbles where you can inject them in the tubes...with the bait pump you can also add fish attractants to the nibbles as well. You can take a regular hand tied jig....then cut the skirt part off of a tube jig boddy and then put the tube with the skirt removed on your hand tied jig hook....slide the tube up the hook to your jig body and inject it...works good. You can easily change colors easily also.
