Jubs... This hair swap made me notice the same thing. I don't think I had ever fished hair (except for some rabbit) in anythin but fast water for smallies. I've already made a few other patterns and have been catching with them.
FF46... Not a lefty, but.....
Sticksteer... Pass it over... when my kids are out of the house, college is paid for, don't have a car payment, my mortgage is paid off, I give up on the health insurance, I get a better $ job and don't have to drive anymore... oh yeah, and when my wife lets me. :D In other words, it ain't gonna happen! Flat- I am a lefty.
Attica- I know hair isn't really my thing either. I do love the action of rabbit though. I have bought a couple colors lately and I don't even know why I didn't consider it for the swap jigs. It's a bit more time consuming though when you're trying to get the zonker strips on the hook nice and center or even off center. I tied up some zonker craw imitations the other day but I haven't put them in water yet but have high hopes for them.
Almost done - last coat tonight - ship Friday
Well I am there, gonna ship soon, went through 3 patterns and who knows how many trials but I settled on a basic one that will hopefully catch fish.
Will hopefully ship this week.

You should be happy with em'. I have a pattern with a rust color barred rabbit strip, drk. green chenille and black head that the smallies have loved this year. The skin on the strip must float, makes the tail stand up off the bottom. :cool:Quote:

I finished up my swap jigs this evening and will take them to the Post Office in the morning. I felt like the warden of my own little prison while I was tying.
( this will make a lot more sense once you see my jigs ). Don't know if I really like using hair to tie with. Seems to me that marabou has a lot more action and natural appearance in the water. But then again, it might just be the type of hair that I used in my jigs!
boy oh boy all this talk about these jigs is making me want to ........... well you guys know .
just think couple more days and it will all be over or at least till swap 10 starts then it's back to the drawing board lol.

Well I've been in the studio today having a photo shoot now let Me warn You 13 mega-pix at 1.5 " distance with led lighting turn's out some pretty awsome result's Your gonna c thing's You never knew were there! I think I have come to the conclusion 1 had a miro piece of booger on it or it was cells off a fish or Human,not sure,but there was nothing in the rule's about using attractant's on the jig's Good Idea!

Mine went out Monday, thought you would have recieved them by now. If they have not shown up by Tuesday I will start again.
I'm sure they'll make it Dr. it took a week to mail a package to Len last week times before 3 days they must'of cut some worker's some where in'between and their having to make a extra leg and spend the night out on FOOT!!!
I think you are right FlatFish because I have two cousin's who work at the post office here in South Bend and they say that changes are going to be made, so that is why I am heading down to the post office shortly to mail out my swap jigs!!!! I think You mis-under-stood -me Grub I'll translate for You Each and every jig I have recieved has been some of the best piece's of work I've ever seen I turely believe it's because of the Top 5 prizes being awarded when actually you Men had it in you all along You were just happy because You were catching alot of fish or having good results Bottom line is everything I've recieved and will recieve I would have no problem going in somewhere and buying these jig's I can't say that for everything I've ever seen including My own Their's several that lay in My box today for what reason I do not know other than the fact I made them and I'm proud of that do they work not often would I buy them at a store I doubt it,but I just threw them togather with hope's of a new catching color without looking at everything or what I was even fishing for ounce again I commend You Men on Your skill's and creativeness I can't wait to post pics!

I would like to have some pictures if I may. I bet it's hard not letting the jig out of the bag. When I saw the list of JS9 swappers I felt a little intimidated about entering but I went for it anyway.I would dare to say they are the best crappie jig tyers in THE WORLD!! Kind of makes you feel a little warm and fuzzy to be a part of it !! Take care !!

I feel all warm and fuzzy during swaps I Have all my swap jigs in there own tackle box and keep the toe tags on them even after i use so I rember whos they were oh and today I did get to use FF crawfish jig from last swap and this is no lie I caught 4 ok bass alot of big gills and even a 4 pound Northen on it but my dumb butt did'nt bring the camera again.
