Have a feeling i am the slow poke, once again...

1 set done and started the 2nd set yesterday, here's a preview for ya.

Set #1 - 1/8th oz. olive/brown/white bucktail jigs. These are my early season/dirty water favorites.

Set #2 - These are a bit out of the ordinary... they have 2 round split shot crimped on the shank and double tapered under the material so they definetly have enough weight to throw. I made these last year originaly and they worked very good on the smallies in my river. I like to use the lighter colors once the river clears up. Hope they work for you all

Hope i am not holding this up, have half the 2nd set done, just need to find time to finish them up!

You aren't 'the' slowpoke - there are two of us. ..... I finished my 2nd pattern this morning - no pics yet - hopefully I can make my digi-cam come to life again (on its last legs).

Still need to come up w/ some goodies for CK3 yet. W/ a little luck, mine will hit the mail on M-T.

Attica, those are really nice!! How did you get the crimped shot flat on one side?

To get the taper, once they are on the shank i start at about the middle of the shot and use pliers and squeeze them some... rotate a little, squeeze, rotate, squeeze, roatate... to keep the shape round. Then i move down just a little towards the squeezed end and repeat that. If you continue to move down with this process, it will taper to a point. Then i go back and use a file to get the opposite end flat so the 2 shots butt together. Hope that makes sense....

You do have to make sure they they do not slip on the shank once you start tying, so i build up a little "bubble" of thread in front of and behind the whole weight. Once they are locked in, i just cover the weights with filler thread, like the couple you can see in the pic. Cover them with a healthy dose of head cement and set them aside to tie once they are dry. Sounds like a big process, but they have proven to be worth it!

Cool idea. Was looking at the ones in line to be finished thinking all they neeeded was a little tail and my line to be tied too.

Gonna have to give that a try.

Soswine, didn't mean to forget you! Those jigs are definately smallie
colors, should do the trick! I'm getting eager to see these bad boys
in person and get em wet!! Smallies are definately my fav on UL equipment.
