Roadrunners huh? Were those used longlining, or casting/jigging as well?
.

I mix the types of jigs up when long lining. Road runners will give you a edge with the blade on them in super muddy water weather jiggin or longlining. Turning blade will give off vibrations and alittle noise. Tubes injected with crappie nibbles and slab sauce gives out scent and taste. Most of the time when vertical jigging, I just use a colored jig head to contrast the body I use. Casting, RR ‘s work good as well as a beetle spin type blade bait. I have a box full of every color and size of beetle spins also but didn’t use them today. Curley tail body’s did not produce today as I tried a purple body chartreuse tail, yellow bod/white tail, and orange yellow combo curley tail with no hits. Maybe should have used darker colors on the curley tails. Anything with chartreuse color combo worked for me today. But the plain head hair purple body chartreuse tail was the hottie long lining. So go figure?
