Got on Lemon this morning at 9:30 am, long lined for a couple hours only catching a couple, switched to crank baits for a couple of hours fishing shallow to deep as possible, no takers, switched to jigs and caught s few small ones off a spot on the bank right next to creek channel pitching nd vertical jigging then decided to long line on a nothern westerly running bank in 9 to 12’ of water next to a bend by the creek channel and commenced to catching about 30 more and all but 2 were same size 8 to 9 inches, pure white, with the 2 being a 10 and a 11” inch fish. They are just starting up as that bank action was in 50.5 degree surface temp all the rest of the lake had dropped to 48-49 overnite and must have dropped due to the rain we got last nite. Fish won’t hit as they are stacked sold in the creek channel with bait balls everywhere but near the bank and no surface action breaking the surface anywhere. Water seemed alittle muddier and sky was totally overcast all day with a light breeze. I did see a couple of guys in a bass boat fish for crappies verticals jigging next to rip rap bank pulling small ones out of their spot but no keepers. Fish are there, its just cold water and we did have a dash of lightning last nite. Best colors was a purple/chartreuse hair PICO jig with a silver streamer for a tail as they ate that one up, and chartreuse tube injected with crappie nibbles as well as a black/chartreuse tailed tube the same, all dipped in slab sauce. Speed on long lining was 0.4 to 0.6 as any faster they would occassionally hit the jigs but miss setting the hooks. All jigs were 1/16 oz in weight also. Anything bigger didn’t work.
