Took a buddy over on Sunday evening again trying to get him a mess of fish since last week was a bust. Stopped on resi side first just to check, spent a half hour there and neither of us had a bump. So took him below the dam and i caught 7 or 8 nice ones in about an hours time and gave to him. A lot of little ones were caught too. There was a group of teens or very young adults doing very well on nice fish though just to my right. Catching and releasing. They caught one real nice one, probably a 14 incher i would say. They were convinced it was a bass. Too big to be a crappie they said. I didn't tell them any different. Pretty funny. I'm planning on trying somewhere over there tomorrow before the rain comes. May go up river, believe it or not i have never been up that way. Would like to explore some new territory.
Which spillway is everyone referring to?
Same here, Much rain and wind!!![]()
Colt....your Definately on track with heading up river.
Well made the run up river this evening at Missy, first time ever being up that way for me. Looked at a map online and found what looked like a pull off spot and off we went. Did very well. Several 12 inch fish and a couple 13's. Was releasing fish we would normally keep due to the size of some we were catching. Also caught some nice white bass. Ended up keeping 14 fish, could have easily had a limit though. Caught most fish casting and retrieving twister tails on the seams of the current and slack water.
Isn't it great when you can pick and choose what you want to keep? Enjoy the spring time fishing!
