Not sure if its the up and down temps or what but the river is down and clear, you would think guys would be having some success out there. Sounds like guys are doing somewhat better in the lake rather than the river..what happened????
It's been a "right place, right time" kind of year. One day I was 30 feet down from a guy who was pulling in fish about every cast while everyone else around could barely get a bump. I fished one area for 45 minute without a single hit , them start to catch fish on almost every cast for 30 to 40 minutes, then not a bump for an hour when I left. I got lucky a couple times this year so I can't complain, but I see the lake bite picking up and the river not really doing much. Also, I have seen more small crappie caught this year than I've seen in a while, yet most all the white bass have been 12"-15" fish with very few smaller fish.
