Couple of things...when they got rid of the 10 hp limit restrictions on motor size,,it really raised the fishing pressure on it as now all boats of any motor size can get on it. Check with the bait shop lady there and she will tell you its totally fubar'ed . Then you got the Amish fishing hell out of it especially in the spring and they keep everything no matter what size it is. And they are pounding it. You can still catch a few good bass out of it as well as blue gills and redears, but the crappies leave a lot to be desired. And its not going to get any better either as fishing pressure will continue to increase. Used to be one of my fav. bluegill/redear lakes. I always condemned DNR for killing off the lilly pads as well...that cover protected the fish and gave a person a awesome cover to fish as well. Its a continual battle of DNR doing this and that to our fisheries and when they change bioligists every so often you get a new one with his idea of how to improve a lake, and sometimes its a battle of wits as to what is good and what is detrimental to helping what used to be a awesome fishery. I don't see it improving in the future either.
