Thread: anybody fish misssy today?

I went over this afternoon. I have never seen more people fishing then i did today. Lake or spillway it didn't matter they were both lined with people. I tried Frances Slocum area and got nothing. Seems like every year around this time when they start filling the lake the crappie really scatter and the bite is tough. We ended up trying below the spillway but went wayyyy downstream. We caught a good number but had to weed through a lot of small ones. The guys fishing next to us however were doing very well. Close to a 3 man limit and they were all really nice fish. They had the honeyhole and they were still there when we packed it up for the night.

Today was Indiana's first Free Fishing Day of the year, so that could have made a big difference in the number of people out also.

Yeah i just saw that. Must have been what it was. When i left and went back over the dam tonight there was still a bunch of people on both sides of the first cove on the east side of the lake. I said to my buddy that maybe we were fishing the wrong spot today because i don't normally see people stacked like that on the lake side lol.

Saturday from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. my wife and I got 7/ 5 Crappie, two White bass. Just keeper size.

I was up river on Sat. only a few other people out, I was surprised, I thought it'd be packed with the nice weather. Guess they were all at the spillway, fine with me. Didn't catch a lot of fish but the ones I did were good size. More white bass than anything, also fine with me. The coming rain and cold front is going kill the bite for sure. Saw some lows next week in the upper 20's !

Hi firehyd, hows it goin? went out with some friends and did some fishing from kayaks on missy. had a great day, caught a limit of big white bass on 1/4 oz white rooster tails then found a hole holding some 10-11 in crappie and limited there also on black/chartreuse tubes. beautiful day, good friends and fish...doesnt get any better. we need to get together sometime. take care and God bless.

Caught decent fish Thursday night, my 25 on Friday, and my 25 again on Saturday. Had to stay longer on Sat to get the 25th one though. Fish are all along the river upstream, just gotta find the pockets.

You mean were upstream, river is up at least 4' from Saturday. Fun while it lasted.
