I banked fished again today and caught some more nice smallmouth. I had three that were 18in and one that was 14. I caught the smallmouth today on the red eye pearl swimbait, and a doll top secret. The cove I was in was loaded with shad, and the smallmouth were busting them on the surface.

Fished templeton from about 11-2:30 today with little results. Rain and wind made conditions tough. We trolled, jigged, and threw some minnows, all were met with a tight bite. We even tried throwing some crankbaits to get some action and got nothing. We fished from 30-40 fow to 3-5.

if I am crappie fishing on Brookville I really don't go for numbers if I am looking for bigger fish. I just go out and find a good looking spot with fish on it. you may have to hover over that brush for 15min before you get one, but if you marked fish they are there. I also change jig size and colors often if something does not produce. if I am vertical jigging I like baits that dart off to the side, like tubes, bobby garland minnows, and slab slayers. the tail of the slab slayers is shaped like half a hollow cone. I think this cone helps protect your hook from snagging because it kind of wraps around your hook.

Bluedrifter can I ask where your buddy is catching big crappie in Lawrenceburg? Tanners or the Ohio? dont need exact locations just body of water, thanks

pick any tributary off the ohio, they all have crappie. I think his secret is fishing stuff that other people pass up. I have heard they are catching them right against the banks, but I am sure they are other places.
