I did but I didn't do it much. Only caught a few fish doing it. I plan on going to West Side next Saturday along with a friend. Just hope the weather is ok. I hear there could be a storm coming around that time.

There is a learning curve to everything, stay with it and it will improve, think of it as another toolin the arsenal. Drove down to Franklin today, roads going down wern't the best but coming back were ok. How is your wife doing, everything work out ok there?

Wife is good. It's been about 10 months since she donated the kidney. Took her about 3 months to get back to normal energy level. Planning on heading down to KY lake last week in March with Dad and Son if weather holds up.

state record is 14+ a bass fisherman caught one a couple year ago on a spinner bait that was over 13lbs. if you hang around the mounds boat ramp in early april, when they are netting, you can watch them releasing the fish back into the lake. Brookville lake is used for stocking all the lakes in Indiana with walleye fry. my biggest is 8.6lbs and have seen fish with my own eyes that went 10lbs and 11.5lbs. as far as the officers getting a picture of the fish i don't know. i do know that the lake is capable of producing a fish that size.

Thanks for the info...I've got one hanging over my desk that's 32.5 inches, but no weight available on that one...LOL, I didn't catch it, my mother-in-law did. I have watched other guys land eyes over 10 pounds on the Kankakee, they're never on my line though...one day I'll hook one of those pigs, it's only a matter of time.

32.5 ! that's a biggun! if that fish was caught early in the year it would be 10lb or better. if you can handle the cold, now thru april is the prime time to catch one of those big ones.
weather is very cold for the next few days but things should start changing for the better soon. it will be time for morels before you know it. cant wait!!!

State Record walleye was caught in the river I fish all the time, the Kankakee...awesome for big bass, pike, gills and crappies and the great fight of the bowfin...occasionally a large eel is caught there too, saw one that was brought into a local baitshop that was a little over 3 feet long.
