Finally got some photos from the 11th plus a couple from today. Looks like the SD card I used is bad. Was able to put photos on the TV and then take a photo of the TV screen.

It was really tough out there today. Couldn't hold the boat anyplace and only caught 5 crappies and one bass. Two trips and two 12 1/2 inch crappies is a good way to start the year.

It has cooled. Where I found 48 before it was now 43. The wind really took all the fun out of it.

Today was a much better day to be on the lake. Easily caught 80 with most being small. Had a couple decent ones early and then just before quiting I found some pretty good ones.
Nice seeing another crappie.com member on the lake again.

fishing technic? depth? Bait? water temp? Very nice going! You've got a weather alert down there tomorrow for 1-3" of possible snow/sleet and cold again,,,welcome to March!

Technique stays pretty much the same for me this time of year. Jig(32nd oz with Kalin's 2 inch triple tail mainly black and chartruese) 14-18 inches under a weighted bobber working stickups. Water temps were up from yesterday. Most of it was 46 to 49 with a few spots of 50.
Also enjoyed sandhill cranes and immature eagle.

Raporter, I was down there too today but only caught about 7 dinks. I was even looking for other crappie.com guys today but most were bass fisherman. Were you up the river or main lake areas? I was finding 45-49 degrees too.

So many ways to catch crappie..my fav. colors in that stained water are flo. green and the flo orange/yellow curley tails and I really like a black tied green hair jig but use a ton of other colors, tubes, RR heads in varous sizes, I carry too much tackle. and plan to get down a couple of times this week and hit it and had planned to before now, but something kept coming up and keeping me at the house. I did find 50 degree water in the 10 acre backwater off East Fork of the White River today, River was 44 degrees and should be getting prime on sauger at the dam.
