Page 8 of the 2018 Illinois fishing Regulations state:

Trolling is permissible, provided the angler has notmore than three poles and lines with not more thantwo hooks or lures on each, except in waters wherethere is a 2 pole and line only designation If using athird pole, the pole should be tagged with the an-gler’s name and address.
