BluesFan... If you know where the crappie were before the rain and water still stained, I'd back on out to the prior location and fish from bottom on up until you connect! I find that it takes a few days for the fishes to move into the "new shallows", as they will follow bate back in. Now if they had already set beds, prior to rain, most will stay put.
If you're new in on the lake, try adding depth of the rise in water to depth last known and find that water back!
Example:Last report said fish in 12" of water. Had a 12" rise of water since that report. Find the water, at 24" and fish bottom to top. Drop to bottom, raise 6-8" and rest a bit... jig slow, then rest. Darker jigs in the stained water as well.
Remember, those fish are still eating somewhere!
