Hey guys, A couple buddies and I are thinking about making a trip down to Rend the end of the week and staying for a couple days fishing. Never been there before so any advice or thoughts on fishing or places to stay would be much appreciated!!!

Go to the corps of engineers office, get a gsp brush pile map. Should be very good. Stay at the marina north of the illinois campground, I would make reservations as the deer season opens this weekend.

God says he has plans for me.
I just fished there last Sunday. We fished the sail boat harbor bridge and did pretty good kept 45 all over 9 inches largest 13.5 inches. You will have to go thru alot of small ones. Bet we thru back a couple hundred small ones. We used jigs red/ chart and pink/ chart. Was catching them about a foot off the bottom. Hope this helps.
No question about it. Defiantly stay at the Lake Cove Resort in Whittington. Been there twice this year and can't say enough good things about it. New facility, bait shop and gas station in same parking lot. Cleaning station attached to the bait shop. Fenced area with electricity for you boat.
Brush pile maps online.

If people concentrated on the really important things in life, there'd be a shortage of fishing poles.:rolleyes:Crappie Xtreme LIKED above post
