I'd rather use jigs anyday, but some days minnows are a must I don't care who you are...or think you are.

Totally agree. I used to buy them 5-10 dozen @ a time and they had a ball with them. Not bought any for sometime now, they are a pain and jig fishing is almost always productive. Just not worth the hassle these days. I will agree they can put fish in the boat on days where the jig bite is off.
Most men spend their entire life fishing, without realizing its not the fish they are after!

I usually buy them by the pound now and keep them in a 55gal barrel outside with a 100gal pump in it. That way when I want to take some out I just dip em out and whats left over after a trip I can just dump em back in.

That's the way we used to keep our flathead bait birdy. Used to keep our catfish in home made boxes tied up in the river until we had a mess then clean them all @ once. My sons are all in college now, I'll save the minnows for the grandkid days.

Now that is dedication and economical, a home made aquarium for minnows. At least we know how you catch so many...little black magic instilled in those? Just stop by Birdies Bait Shop to pick up some guaranteed crappie catchin minners.
