Anybody use these as way to do quick changes of the jig and as an alternative to the loop knot?

Yes and I just ordered some of those today, thats weird.I usually use the #3 on mono their really small,I ordered the #2 to use on fireline I got 2 1500 yd spools and it was the new fused fireline and I lost 5 fish yesterday because the knots kept coming untied or wearing through.Never had that trouble before with the original.I tie a loop knot on the jigs under a bobber and it seemed to wear through the line, dont get it.Expensive mistake.$#!t line hope I can get it to work

Sounds like your knot is slipping with the fireline, fairly common, try to tie a palomar knot and there will be no slippage-just wet your line good before drawing knot tight, I tie all braids and florocarbon with the palomar and never a problem.

I have found this knot so easy to tie that it is all I use most of the time, good fishing

I do use the palomar when tying directly to the eye of the jig but when I use slip floats I use a loop knot.Never had any trouble with original fireline, some were broke where the eye sets in the bottom of the loop with knot still intact and some just came untied.Had it happen twice today.

Some of the new braid slips quite easily i did a knot test and found even the palomar slipped on some line so I have gone to the double palomar with the braid. Friday I pulled the jig free at least six times straightened out hook everytime and saved the set up.
