Just checkin....is there an above average snow pack up there? Seems like there would be. When all that snow and ice melts and runs down river, the overflow swamps and lakes of south Louisiana rise with the effect of the Mississippi river being very high. We have even seen ice floating down river as far south as Baton Rouge and New Orleans. We like the high water here as it makes for a monster crawfish season as well as restocking the overflow swamps and lakes down here. Good luck this spring if it ever comes....SLIP
Cork, our last snowfall amount was 7" last Wed. here in Tuscola Illinois. Most of the existing snow that was on the ground prior to that, had been melted by a rather large winter rain! We are standing somewhere between 10"-14" of total ice on just about all bodies of water in this area. I would prematurely say you will owe us some crawdads this spring! The really nice big ones bud! LOL
