    Default supposed to be fun

Hi all! I've been on crappie.com a couple years, but never posted. A few of you may know me....Tim, Jerry, may know me from fishing w/Delmar and Tim. ANYWAY.... today I fished down at the marina, primarily because it was the only place I could find out of the wind. Wasn't doing well at all, then a bunch of guys came out and starting dipping the docks. They obviously had permission, which I didn't. So...I was relegated to watching these guys, some who looked like they had never fished before, catch slab after slab, right in front of me. Then to add insult to injury, a couple of local guys (one in shorts!) came through in a boat and as I was casting in between a couple of slips, they floated right over my spot (almost went over my cork!) and then stayed right there, fishing on my spot! Intentionally. I'm sorry for being a little winy, but when people do things like that, it just takes the fun out of it. I've fished since I was a little boy and never had such a bad experience. Some people think they have the right to do what they want to and they give this sport a bad name.

mreed-it's not whining, sometimes you need to unload to some folks that can relate. Unfortunately, there are always going to some jerks out there that spoil your day. I had that same thing happen a couple of times over the years. Didn't really do anything about it after the first time and after stewing about it thought of a couple of things to do next time it happened. The second time it happened, a couple of real jock straps actually came within three feet of my boat between the bank and I (the bank was about twenty feet away) and started fishing a stump I was fishing. I made as much noise as I could banging on the side hull of my aluminum boat and then started my motor right next to their boat, reved the engine several times, put the motor in gear and gave it all the throttle. I figured they didn't like it much cause I could hear them yelling when I left. I figure I'll just make sure I spoil it for them from now on. I always give other boats a wide berth, and pass very slowly so as not to disburb anyone. It's sad how disrespectful and inconsiderate society has become. I gave up duck hunting about 10-12 years ago, which was my most favorite thing to do, because of idiots. I figured with guns involved there is a pretty good chance some one is going to get shot over a duck, and that is not worth it. Like my dad used to say, non-illigitimum carborundom...don't let the bassturds grind you down.

I assume you was fishing sullivan marina and if it was, you are not supposed to fish from the dock unless you was a slip renter with is $2000 a year and for that price I will let them have it all and I will not fish from the docks but will fish it from the boat. There is always lots of good fish all over that area and people souldn't crowd ya.
Lets go soak a line. Pat
