Got a few this morning. It was 16 when we headed out fishing, calm and cold. Crappie's were tight to the bottom and not biting very good. I kept switching jigs till I put on a real small ball head green jig that RonDon had made me. Well, they liked it and I came home with 9. For me, 9 is a good catch, just right for Sandy & I..![]()

16 degrees and you went fishing?!? You deserve every one you caught!Thumbs Up Congrats.![]()
nice job larry, how long did you stay out?
get in, sit down, shut up and fish
We started at 8:30 and went in at 11:00 We started to go out at 7:30 but my friends minnows were dying so we had to go get more, and they started to die. I ask him what had been in his bucket? Something in it was killing the minnows. We switched buckets and saved the most of them. It was just one of those days!!

There's an area of the Mississippi River between Minnesota and Wisconsin where a power plant discharges some warm water and the river stays open all winter for several miles below. 16 degrees is still prime time for the boat and some jigging. Its not all that bad down to about 10 degrees if the wind isn't blowing.
I don't like to fish in the wind summer or winter. Just a little breeze in the summer so you can drift...
