Running on AA batteries helps to keep the weight to a bare minimum on the Troller and at under 2 c-notes they are affordable as heck. I have been able to play with these units at a couple of ice shows now and they are really something....but the whole line of the Showdown units has been tweaked and enhanced into very, very accurate and easy to use/interpret ice fishing tools.
I am very interested in the showdown, but reading reviews on another forum im questioning them. Wondering is a flasher would be better. I am incouraged by the positive comments here. thanks

Bee, Did you make that leg strap mount or buy it? I am buying a showdown and think that is the best thing ever.
Well guys my wife ordered me one on Ebay for 185. plus shipping for my BD plus got me a TomTom.
Yea I want one but think I'll try myself. I have plexiglass. I hope I can bend the aluminum Evenly. But cool idea. Need to patent it and sell to marcum.
Now about the troller, Got mine and used it yesterday. Not sure how much I like it. I am hoping it does better in deeper water. I was in only in 6 ft of water and was really hard reading it because shallowest scale is 20 ft. After some deep water experience I'll report more.
