Those smiles tell it all. You don’t see smiles like that when they are glued to their games or phones.
Some of the most rewarding moments in this old farts life has been fishing with my grandson. Since we started when he was just old enough to walk and he is now almost 16 we have been on an untold number of fishing trips. From having to untangle his line almost every cast to now having to use my 100 lb weight advantage to jockey for FFS screen views on the bow it’s been a blast. A good teacher always learns more than the student and it’s so rewarding to sit back and watch Austin teach his younger female cousins how to fish. Watching him patiently instruct his siblings about everything from how to tie on a jig to matching the jig color to the water color and clarity is so rewarding. We are now to the point all I need to do is tow the boat to the launch. He takes solo trips now after many trips with me where all I did was observe.
If your grandchildren or children show an interest in fishing seize the opportunity to teach them. Those memories will last a lifetime time and if you are as fortunate as I have been you will have a fishing partner who one day will help you get out on the water when you are too old to go it alone.

    Bon Temps!!
