Caught about 15 keeper crappie trolling in Bighart creek. Only six were at a pound and no true slabs. Partner call on the cell phone and said he was almost at his limit fishing docks in soap creek, this was around 1000. We decided to stick it out in Bighart till 11, not another fish. Left Bighart to go to soapcreek, bought some shrimp to do a little catfishing. Caught 12 nice cats around 378 bridge. Fished docks till dark caught 22 more crappie pretty deep around 25ft. Most of the crappie were caught on black/chart tripple ripple.

We did ok up in Soap as well. Got on the water about 7 or so. Was pretty interesting my first time running with the rod holders lol. I 'have' to get an auto pilot. I caught 4 crappie, 1 shellcracker, and one little bass trolling. So, six fish for my first troll heh. They were all pretty small though.
After the old man nearly ran us into the electric tower, two of the rods on that side bent and we had two fish on at once, I figured he hung us up going too close to that thing. We'd been trolling around about an hour and a breeze had kicked up that was giving me fits keeping us going in the right direction. So we just stopped there at the tower and started throwing at it. We caught about 25 fish in about 15 minutes, but they were all small. Dang near caught one every cast. I put three fish in the live well but let them go because they were a little smaller than I'd like to filet and wasn't going to go to the trouble for just three so we decided to let them grow up some more.
After that, we ran up to the docks and threw around a little bit up there but didn't have any luck. We rode up to the big bridge just to see it, then called it a day, I'd only had about 6 hours of sleep in the last two days heh. We loaded up and headed home right about 10am. We did see someone fishing the docks on the way back, that might have been your buddy.
None of the fish were very big, but we did catch a good number, probably 30 in all. All but three bites came on black/blue/chart Kalin's, two on John Deere and one on Acid Rain. Nevertheless, it was a beautiful morning and we were at least catching something. Was also some good experience on the trolling techniques. Going to need some fine tuning though. The water was a good bit more shallow than the last time I was up there. Before, it was 11-12 ft throughout, but was only 8-9ft in the same areas this weekend and there seemed to be a lot more crap floating around in the water. Also, the nest seems to be empty now.

Great job man! Wished I could have bumped into you Sat. Those autopilots are a must when trolling, If you want a autopilot check out Marc Danque at the Crappie Hole in Chapin, SC I will email you his number, he has some reconditioned ones usually. Its only about a hour drive from Augusta. I notice the empty nest also, I hope that no one bothered the chicks, they must have grown pretty fast. We had to let the jigs fall pretty deep around the docks to get a bite, sometimes up to 15-20sec.

ahh, that was most likely my problem. Too shallow, I was only waiting 5-10s.
