Long rods and lift straight up.. Also you use a longer handle net to reach out there and get em. Don't lift a B&M jigpole like that or it WILL break the tip. I have broke a few but won't anymore..:D I use enough weight to keep my lines almost verticle. I use a 13', 2-twelve foot, and a 10' on each holder.
If you have sonar up front most of the time you can see your baits on the graph.
this method works best the longer the rods..IMO.. they make 20',18',16',14',13',12',10' and regular rods.
If you use shorter rods angle them right of left of the trolling motor.
