Anyone have any tips for someone new to fishing Lake Blackshear? My dad has a lot at Campers Haven RV park on the north end of the lake, so that'll be where I launch my boat mostly. I have fished Blackshear twice for crappie. The first time, I was with a friend in his boat, that had no electronics what so ever other than a trolling motor. It was in the fall of '12, we didn't catch but a handfull, one being my best crappie ever of 2.3lbs 17". The second trip was most recent, 4th of July weekend, I started out at daybreak and fished around the Hwy 27 bridge and a couple deep holes without any luck. Growing up my grandaddy, daddy and myself fished Lake Eufaula(Walter F. George) a bajillion times. Being my grandaddy was the "skipper" we fished "his" way. Which was during the spawn when the fish are right up on the edge of the bank, with jigs. I'm not against changing patterns to find/catch fish.
