We were generally catching fish in 7 feet of water and right on the bottom. We would catch fish when you could see the rod tip bouncing from the jig contacting the bottom. The first few fish I caught were on a double rig of 1/16 oz heads and on the bottom jig that was constantly bottoming out on the inside rod during a turn. I'm a little slow on the uptake, but eventually the light bulb came on. Most of the fish were concentrated in this one area where there was a change in depth of a couple of feet and the fish seemed to be right on the break. As we were leaving, we ran over a spot at about 3 MPH and marked a lot of fish in some deep water. Man that Lowrance Elite made some perfect arches! The down imaging was all lit up too. The fish were big and might have been bass or hybrids, but I dropped a minnow down and immediately caught a 4 finger fish. I thought we might have to fight the gale force winds for a while, but I never could get another bite. If they are still there this weekend I might have to give them another try.
