Default A Big Howdy from Alaska

Me and the wife came up last week to see the daughter and family in Fairbanks. My son in law's in the army and they stationed him and his family here, after they arrived and unpacked their stuff the army shipped him off to Iraq (for the second time) and left the family to fight the frigid winters with 3 small children in -40 to -50 degree temps ( boy the army sure knows how to take care of their own) ok, enough of that. We'll be back late next week and I"m going fishing, I'm getting the itch reeeaaalll bad and the boat's been calling my name. Been wanting to do some fishing up here but doubt I'll get the chance, I've been trying to help out around the house as much as I can, fixing stuff and trying to make sure everything's working until hubby gets home in September. Anyhow we did get to see some of Denali, later guys.

Take care and thank the family for their service
Just not the service man, but their family too.

Yeah the sign out Ft. Stewart says something along the best post to train, deploy and raise a family....yeah right...Been to OIF 1,3,5, and about to be 7 or 8 whatever it is now. 1-3-5( hence missing 2 and 4..every year is a new OIF year...I think this is about to be 8) had a year of dwell time before deployments....thats including all the training needed to deploy...I am out soon though so. Our brigade got lucky and got the Homeland Security detail which added a year to our dwell time. So almost got 2 years but its not looking good for my friends to be home for Christmas this year. Good luck to your family Bill and maybe by the time I get out the Army we can meet up for some Juliette fishin or anywhere else the wind and fish can take us.
